Family Enrichment Center Becomes ACCESS Florida Provider
Partnership with Department of Children and Families provides citizens with more streamlined delivery of public assistance services
Tampa, Fla. (April 26, 2007) – In an effort to improve community access to services needed to help strengthen families in the local community, The Family Enrichment Center (FEC), has partnered with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to become an ACCESS Florida provider. The full-service site, located at 3911 N. 34th Street in Tampa, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every weekday beginning May 1, 2007.
The purpose of the ACCESS Florida program, the state’s newly revamped public assistance service delivery system, is to promote economic self-sufficiency among residents who apply for government aid.
In addition to allowing eligible applicants to apply for temporary cash assistance, refugee assistance, food stamps and Medicaid programs administered by DCF, the FEC’s designation as a “Platinum” service site allows residents to take advantage of an expanded list of services such as access to computers, telephones, fax machines, printers and copiers; verification of an applicant’s identity; application pick up and drop off; assistance with application completion, as well as tracking the status of an application, all at no charge.
For more information, contact the FEC at (813) 237-2530 or visit the ACCESS Florida web site at http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/ess/.
