Family Enrichment Center to Host Fundraiser
Proceeds will benefit the agency’s Foster Care & Adoption Program

Tampa, Fla. (April 17, 2007) – The Family Enrichment Center (FEC) will host a car wash from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at the Autozone, located on the corner of North 37th Street and East Hillsborough Avenue. Proceeds from the event will be used to create opportunities for growth and development of the FEC’s foster care and adoption programs.

“In Hillsborough County, we have an overwhelming number of children waiting to be adopted or placed in foster homes,” said Judy Rowland-Smith, Foster Care & Adoptions Program Director. “Coupled with that is the need to find people who are willing to open their homes as well as their hearts to provide safe, nurturing environments for these children to learn and grow.”

Members of the FEC staff, along with the agency’s recruitment and retention team, comprised of current foster and adoptive parents, will participate in the fundraiser. They include: Frankie D. Jones, Misty Lewis-Farrington, Jennifer Gardner, Marie Montrieul, Gislaine Etienne, Harriet Ellington, Andre Mitchell, Marion Mitchell and Sharon A. Mathis. The event is not only a chance for families to take part in a fun event together, but also an opportunity to raise awareness throughout the local community about FEC’s child placement services, and the variety of other family-centered programming available.

The donation for a car wash is $5. For larger vehicles such as trucks, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and campers, the cost will be $10.
